My Review: 4 Sexy Stars
I make it no secret that I love Lauren Blakely's books. I don't think that there is one that I haven't read  and most are read within a few days of their release (if not before if I'm lucking enough to get the chance like I was with this one). She has a way with words that makes you feel the book, not just read the book. I really enjoyed this one. I loved how Becker and Megan meet. I loved that despite their best intentions to stay away from each other, that they can't deny the connection they feel with each other. I loved that there was a firemen's calendar photo shoot (who doesn't right?!?!). What is great about this book and most of Lauren Blakely's books is that the characters, despite being mostly strong people, have a few vulnerabilities that they are able to share with the other and they don't hurt each other because of those things, but help build each other up to be complete people. This book was fun and sexy and serious and emotional in just the right amount. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick sexy read. On another note, I think Trey and Clay still top the list of my favorite Blakely Boys, but Becker is definitely pretty high on the list now too. -J

My Review: 4.5 Stars

This is the first book in the series I have read, and the first book I have read by Courtney Cole, but I was not disappointed. Brand was one of the good guys, even while trying to hold himself away from people, he couldn't hide the fact that he was a good guy at heart. Nora lived her life by doing what was expected of her from her father, whether it was want she wanted to do with her life or not. When she meets Brand again, she decides that she is going to do something for herself before dedicating her life to what her father expects of her. 

Nora saw Brand as a good guy when she was younger and meeting him again knows that, at heart, he is still a good guy. Brand's actions speak louder than any words he says. Brand sees Nora as a beautiful person who is completely unhappy in her life. They get together after very unusual circumstances but they bring so much to each other as people. I hate giving spoilers in reviews so I will just say that they help each other with past problems and try to help each other be their best. While reading this book, I knew some of the things that were going to happen before they did, but there were also some twists and turns that I was never expecting. I will say that reading this book produced a few tears (it apparently takes a lot for me to cry since I don't think I have yet had an ugly cry from a book and I read A LOT). Because of reading this book, I will be picking up the other books in this series because I loved the writing and I want to read more by Courtney Cole.
